Camp IV High Camp (17,200ft)

(via sat phone) They made it to camp IV, High Camp 17,200 ft! They were all  tired, but okay. They are considering the summit tomorrow to take advantage of the good weather.

Hello to Jen, Finn and Willey from Shawn!

Camp III

(via sat phone) They carried equipment to 16,600 ft today and then back to camp III (14,200 ft). Tomorrow will be a rest day. The weather is good, including low winds, and the views are reportedly amazing. Everyone is feeling fine and climbing strong. They said to say hello to friends and family again. They will move to camp IV (high camp) 17,200 ft on Wednesday and then determine when to attempt to summit.

Camp III (14,200)

(via sat phone) They moved to camp III and are using the food from another group that turned around. Everyone is doing well, with the exception of a few headaches. Again, they said to say hello to all friends and family! They are attempting to use the accident on Thursday as reason to concentrate on climbing details and terrain.

Camp II

(via sat phone) They went to 12,000 ft today and back to camp II. They will move to camp III tomorrow. They will use the food from another group who may stop and return home. That will save carrying their food if that happens. They were shaken by the bad news yesterday and have decided to stop if anyone has misgivings about proceeding.

Camp II

(via sat phone) Bryan called last night to report he and his climbing group are okay! (Four other climbers fell on Thursday about midnight. Two died and the other two are in critical condition.)

They (Bryan’s group) move their equipment to camp III (14,200 ft) today and then return to Camp II for the night.

Wish them a safe climb and descent!!

Camp II (11,200 ft)

(via sat phone) They carried equipment to 10,000 ft yesterday and have moved to camp II today. They will return tomorrow and get remaining equipment and have a rest day at camp II. Weather is clear and everyone is feeling well!

Camp I (7,900 ft)

(via sat phone) They moved equipment yesterday and today and are now at Camp I. Weather has improved and everyone is feeling well. They said to say hello to friends and family! I will update status in couple of days after they move to Camp II.

As you know, the heart of a whale is just under its flipper, which is where you’d harpoon one. Followed by a 61yr old man harpooning said whale on a 12ft kayak only to leave it for the local village to dismantle it over the course of 13 days.

His wife killed a 6ft sea otter, and then a beluga whale. Apparently, when you open up a beluga whale’s head, it’s full of hard jello, which is how the sonar works.

If a cop asks you if you have drugs in the car, the appropriate response is to ask if the cop has drugs because you can’t find any.

More will come as we recall the enlightening trip.
